I am a doctoral trained functional nutrition practitioner. I provide personalized nutrition/lifestyle assessments, recommendations and counseling to help you meet your nutrition and health goals. The functional medicine approach is restorative, that is it is based on practices that enable the body to heal naturally rather than treat only the symptoms of disease.
The Nutrition Endeavors Approach
Resolution of Symptoms
My process for helping you covers 3 Zoom or telephone appointments:
1. Thorough nutrition assessment to reveal the root causes of your symptoms.
2. Therapeutic interventions and support by email/text while you are implementing the solutions to your issues.
3. Review of the success or challenges and adapting the therapeutic interventions as needed.
Cost for these 3 appointments is $225.00
IBS
Unbalanced microbiome
Do you have GERD, pain, constipation, diarrhea, gas, or bloating for unknown reasons? This might be due to dysbiosis. Dysbiosis is an imbalance of the gut microbiome which is an overgrowth of some bacteria. There are several reasons this can happen, which I explore with a detailed assessment to find the root cause. Once the root cause is removed the gut bacteria need to be rebalance with nutrition interventions.
Having peri-menopausal or menopausal symptoms? We can help.
We are women working with women trying to manage hormonal changes naturally. You will work with a naturopath as well as myself to manage your symptoms.
Anxiety
Hormones, food intolerances, or nutrient deficiencies may be the root cause.
Did you know that anxiety can be caused by IBS or gut issues? The brain and the gut talk via the vagus nerve through neurotransmitters. If the gut is unhealthy it sends messages to the brain that can cause brain fog and anxiety.
The key is to identify the root causes of the anxiety such as food intolerances or nutrient deficiencies. Food intolerances tend to be subtle and go undetected contributing to not only anxiety but also fatigue, pain, depression, heart burn, irritable bowel syndrome, arthritis, and skin problems.
I have tools that we will use to reveal and then remove the root cause of anxiety, brain fog, or poor concentration.
Migraines
Inflammation may be the root cause or a contributor of migraines. Therefore, utilizing anti-inflammatory interventions such as a Mediterranean-type diet, eliminating food sensitivities, increasing physical activity and managing stress may reduce the number and severity of attacks.
Does your Bladder Give you Grief?
Interstitial cystitis causes pain, frequency, and urgency.
Chronic bladder infections or interstitial cystitis may be caused by undesirable bacterial that produce biofilms. Antibiotics to treat bladder infections kill the bacteria but not the biofilms. The biofilms protect the bacteria and when the conditions are just right the bacteria become active and produce new infections. I have solutions for targeting unwanted biofilms.
Bladder pain, urgency, and frequency may be related to food intolerances, autoimmune disorders or hormones. There are natural solutions for managing these bladder symptoms.
Do you have brain fog or feel sluggish, tired or unwell?
This could be due to toxic burden.
We live in a toxic world and it seems to be getting worse. The liver is responsible for detoxifying the blood and preparing toxins for excretion by the gut. If your liver is overworked or your gut is sluggish, toxins can build up which we stored in the fat cells. I can guide you through reducing your toxic burden through detoxication by utilizing food and nutrients. Supporting the work of the liver and improving gut health.
Lourie and Smith, two Canadian environmental researchers share their knowledge about the toxins we are exposed to everyday in our home and environment.
